what should i bring with me?
We recommend bringing the following:
- A water bottle
- Athletic clothes
- Sneakers or other athletic shoes (no cleats)
- Gloves for sword work (batting gloves, gardening gloves, gauntlets, or similar)
- Something to take notes with
- Deodorant
- Hair ties for long hair
- At least two masks
All class materials & weapons will be provided.

i'm brand new to stage combat. can i still register?
Absolutely! We offer a Combat Foundations track to build foundational skills across fighting styles. Visit our Offerings page for more.
how old do i have to be to register?
We welcome all students aged 18 and up.
Where should i plan to grab lunch?
The Seattle Center Armory, where classes are held, has a variety of restaurants on the second floor, so you won't need to leave the building. But if you want to explore, Westlake Center and the iconic Pike Place Market are only a monorail ride away!
Will there be spr offered?
Yes! The SAFD Deep Dive track will include a Saturday class with Single Sword SPR choreography. Later that day, there will be an additional class period for you to rehearse. Then, on Sunday, the first half of the lunch break will be used to film SPRs.

Can I bring items from my own armory?
All class materials will be provided for you. That said, you are welcome to bring a personal weapon, given:
- you transport the weapons safely and discreetly.
- you check it with a member of the Sockeye staff.

Do you offer scholarships?
To further accessibility, Latitude Theatre is offering registration scholarships. Up to 2 full registration fee, 4 half registration fee, or a combination of the two scholarship types will be awarded, based on the need of the selected applicants. Anyone with financial need is encouraged to apply, regardless of experience level or identity. The application will remain open until filled, but cut-off for first review will occur on July 1.
